FPU vs. Bethany (Doubleheader 12:00)

FPU'S DOUBLEHEADER WITH BETHANY AT JOHN EULESS BALL PARK IS RAINED OUT

Today's doubleheader between the Bethany College Bruins and the Sunbirds, set for John Euless Ball Park, was rained out.

The game was called one pitch into the third inning. No replay date has been set.

It is the third time this month that the Sunbirds were forced to make a schedule change. On March 1, the Sunbirds were set to host The Master's College in a Golden State Athletic Conference doubleheader, but switched to Santa Clarita because of poor field conditions. This past Saturday the FPU's GSAC doubleheader was rescheduled to May 3 because of rain and poor field conditions.

Today's games were originally scheduled for Scotts Valley, but rain there switched to Fresno because of rain there.

"This is frustrating," said FPU coach Oscar Hirschkorn. "But what can you do. They asked if we could host them and we thought we had a window. We gave it a shot. Maybe we just started the games to soon."

By 4:00 p.m. the rain had stopped and heavy clouds gave way to bright sunshine.

The Sunbirds travel to Santa Barbara this Saturday for a GSAC doubleheader with Westmont, then head to San Jose for a single game Sunday afternoon against San Jose State.

The next home date for the Sunbirds is Thursday, March 23, when the Sunbirds host Azusa Pacific. The doubleheader at Tiger Stadium on the Reedley College campus, begins at 3:00 p.m.
