Prior to FPU - Rudy led the Monte Vista Christian High School Mustangs to a 34-3 record, and the first league championship in school history, his junior season... A year later the mustangs finished third with a 24-10 record... was named the league Most valuable player his senior season... was an All-NorCal his final two seasons... played two seasons under Frank Carbajal at Hartnell College in Salinas where he earned all-league honors both seasons.
Personal - Rudy is a native of Watsonville... his parents are Rudy, Sr. and Anna Lopez... has two older sisters... list of favorite pro teams includes the Raiders, A's and Warriors... home church is Green Valley Christian Center... is a business management major.
As a junior (2004-05) - Rudy appeared in each of the team's 29 contests, including 24 starts... averaged 12.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game... had a season-best 27 points and 8 rebounds in FPU's 89-80 win over The Master's on January 18... reached double figures in scoring in 20 games.
As a senior (2005-06) - Rudy appeared in all of the 28 Sunbird contests, starting in 27 of them... averaged 15.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.
