Fresno - The Fresno Pacific University Sunbirds raced out to a 17-2 lead and cruised to a 68-19 non-conference win over the visiting Golden State Baptist College Bears tonight in the Special Events Center.
FPU forced 15 turnovers in the first 20 minutes on route to a 46-4 lead at the break.
Moustafa El Zanaty and Andre Faria led FPU with 13 points each. Rudy Lopez added 11 points. Faria pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds to complete the double-double.
FPU will be in San Rafael on Monday for a rematch with Dominican University. The Sunbirds defeated the Penguins 72-67 last Thursday in FPU's home opener.
