Personal - Maurecia is the daughter of George and Gaylen Clark of Santa Maria... is in the middle of five children... home church is Saint Mary's of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church... enjoys piano... has been active as a coach at the Boys and Girls Club and local recreational center... is preparing for a career as physical education teacher and coach.
Prior to FPU - Maurecia was a dual sport athlete at Santa Maria High School... earned letters in both tennis and basketball... was a two-time All Northern League honoree in tennis and three-time in basketball.
As a freshman (2000-01) - Maurecia played both basketball and tennis at Allan Hancock Community College.
As a sophomore (2001-02) - Maurecia started each of the team's 35 games... led the team in assists with 137... averaged 12.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game... led the GSAC with 85.6% free throw accuracy (77-90) in 20 league games... played a personal high 37 minutes against both CSU Humboldt and The Master's... had a near triple-double with 9 points, 17 rebounds and 8 assists against CSU Hayward... reached double figures in scoring in 20 games... had two double figure rebounding games... was named the team's outstanding offensive player... earned a 3.53 grade point average and was selected NAIA All-America Scholar Athlete.
As a junior (2002-03) - Maurecia appeared in 31 games, including 30 starts... averaged 17.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 33.5 minutes of action per game... was named to the All-GSAC team... also earned NAIA All-America honorable mention status.
As a senior (2003-04) - Maurecia appeared in each of the teams 31 games, including 28 starts... led the team with 17.5 points a game. |
