Personal - Sheila is the second of Sandy and Bob Kamps' three daughters... is the younger sister of senior Teresa Kamps... she was born in Modesto on July 29, 1982... is a business administration major and career... enjoys any movie with Julia Roberts and is a Sacramento Kings fan... has been active in the youth group at her home church, Emmanuel Christian Reformed Church.
Prior to FPU - Sheila earned four letters in both softball, as a catcher, and basketball at Ripon Christian High School... earned All-Trans Valley League first team honors in both her junior and senior seasons when she lead the Knights to 22-8 and 23-6 records and consecutive TVL championships... was the TVL player of the year as a senior.
As a freshman (2000-01) - Sheila appeared in 18 games and averaged 2.0 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest.
As a sophomore (2001-02) - Sheila appeared in 27 games and averaged 4.7 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest... scored a career-high 24 points in FPU's 97-96 overtime loss at 10th-ranked Holy Names on November 7... named the team's Tough, smart, unselfish player... also shared the team's most improved award with Natalie Beltran and Jane Gillespie.
As a junior (2002-03) - Sheila appeared in only eight games before a back injury, which required surgery, ended her season... averaged 6.1 points and 3.1 rebounds in that short stretch.
As a senior (2003-04) - Fully recovered from a back injury that limited her junior season to just eight games, Sheila registered her best season... started all 31 games and averaged 9.1 points and a team leading 6.3 rebounds per contest... was named the team's most improved player... was named FPU's Sunbird of the year.... also named to the NAIA All-America Scholar Athlete team.
