Tuesday, January 10, 2006 - GSAC Game 5
Final:
Biola 75, FPU 63

Box score

La Mirada - The Biola University Eagles used double-figure scoring from five players to forge a 75-63 Golden State Athletic Conference win over the Fresno Pacific University Sunbirds tonight in La Mirada.

Rachel Dulin's 21 points led the way, but there was plenty of help from Megann Alberts (15 points) and Crystal Duncan, Linda Ogugua and Mandi England (each with 10).

Melissa Montoya led the Sunbirds with 21 points. Denise Fast added 13 points, while Kari Cox chipped in with 11. Fast also had five rebounds, five steals and four assists for the 4-10 Sunbirds.

"We had a defensive breakdown in the final four minutes of the first half'" said FPU head coach Jim Hall. "Instead of a lead we had to play from behind the rest of the way."

The Sunbirds will host top-ranked Vanguard University this Saturday. The Lions (12-0, 5-0) are out-scoring their opponents by a 40-point margin (88.0-47.4). Tip-off time in the Special Events Center is 2:30 p.m.
