Irvine - Kristine Jensen's 23 points and seven rebounds led the host Concordia University Eagles to a 70-62 Golden State Athletic Conference win over the Sunbirds tonight in Irvine.

The Eagles (12-8, 7-4) led 31-25 after 20 minutes of play.

Melissa Montoya led FPU (5-15, 1-11) with 18 points. Denise Fast added 16 points.

"We played hard ," said FPU head coach Jim Hall. "In terms of effort, it was one of the best games we've played this season. It was a one-possession game with two minutes to play. "

The Sunbirds return to the Special Events Center for a pair of games this week. On Tuesday the Sunbirds host California Baptist (11-10, 5-6). Tip-off time is 5:30 p.m.

Next Saturday the Westmont College Warriors (9-11, 4-7) will be in the Special Events Center for a 2:30 tip-off.
