Fresno - Senior guard Denise Fast scored a career-high 29 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the host Fresno Pacific University Sunbirds to a 60-46 Golden State Athletic Conference win over the California Baptist University Lancers tonight in the Special Events Center.

The Sunbirds (6-16, 2-10) lead wire to wire. They broke out to a 10-0 lead, were up eight points at the break (30-22), stretched it to 19 points (46-27) and cruised to the win

"Superb team effort on defense," said FPU head coach Jim Hall. "We executed our defensive game plan superbly tonight. We finally put everything together on one night."

Fast had help from Melissa Montoya who scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers. Brooke Stanley added eight points, but matched Fast's 10 rebounds.

Nicole Davis led the Lancers (11-11, 5-7) with 15 points.

The Sunbirds will host the Westmont College Warriors (9-12, 4-8) this Saturday. Tip-off time in the Special Events Center is 2:30 p.m.
