Saturday, February 25, 2006 - GSAC Game #19
Final -
FPU 78, San Diego Christian 36

Box score

Livestats from the Special Events Center

Fresno - It was the final home game for seniors Denise Fast, Danielle Prusinskas, Heidi Hutchings, Lindsey Burnett, Molly McAmis and Melissa Montoya and they did not disappoint the hometown faithful in the Special Events Center this afternoon.

Powered for double figure scoring from Fast, Prusinskas and McAmis the Sunbirds swamped visiting San Diego Christian 78-36 in Golden State Athletic Conference action.

FPU roared out to an 18-2 start and led 36-11 after 20 minutes of play. It was more of the same as the Sunbirds out-scored the Hawks 42-25 in the second half.

"Our seniors gave us a great lift tonight," said FPU head coach Jim Hall. "They gave us that big lead in the first half, then did it again to start the second half. It is a whole lot easier to coach when your team shoots 47 percent. I am real pleased."

Fast led the way with 13 points and also contributed six rebounds and four assists McAmis notched a double-dealer with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Prusinskas also scored 11 points.

Jaime Geagel and Amy Showers led the Hawks. Both scored 10 points. Geagel led all players with 14 rebounds.

FPU,8-20 overall and 4-15 in GSAC play, wrap up the season in FUllerton on Monday evening against Hope International University.
