Prior to FPU - Eloy competed in both cross country and track at Clovis High School... placed 16th in the California State Cross Country championship.
Personal - Eloy was born in Mexico, but now call Clovis home... his parents are Manuela and Manuel Quintana of Clovis... home church is St. John's... has one younger sister... is fluent in both Spanish and English... is a pre-med major.
As a freshman (2004) - Eloy was the team's first runner across the line in each of the season's seven races to lock down the No.1 Runner designation... ran a season-best 25:54 at the Region 2 Championship, a time that ranks him third on FPU's all-time 8,000 meter list at Woodward Park... earned All-GSAC (7th place) and All-Region (14th place) honors... was named the team's MVP |
