Personal - Margaret, or Maggie as she prefers to be called, is the daughter of Debby and Charles Clayton of Bakersfield... has one older and one younger brother... has a special interest in creative writing... is a natural science major with a pre-health emphasis... home church is Height Street Baptist Church.
As a freshman (2002) - Maggie was the Sunbirds' number four runner... posted a season best 21:52 for 5,000 meters at Woodward Park in the NAIA Region 2 Championship... was the team's most improved runner.
As a sophomore (2003) - Maggie missed the first race of the year due to injury, but came on strong at the end of the season... was the second FPU runner across the line in the GSAC and Regional championships... posted a career-best 21:10 at the Regional Championship on November 8... was the team's number 3 runner... shared the most improved runner award with Kim Morgan.
As a junior (2004) - Maggie was FPU's No. 4 runner... chopped 27 seconds off her personal best with a 20:25 mark at Woodward Park at the NAIA Region 2 Championship.
