Prior to FPU - Melissa was a two sport letter winner, soccer and track, at Amador High School... was the 2004 Mother Lode Conference champion in the 1,600 meters and placed second in the 800 meters.
Personal - Melissa was born in Denton, Texas... her parents are Jill and Allen Dowlat of Sutter Creek... has two younger siblings... special interests include art and music... is a Lakers and Cowboys fan... is a liberal studies major with a minor in Spanish... plans a career as a bilingual teacher.
As a freshman (2004) - Melissa was the first Sunbird across the line in each of the seven races of the season... her season best mark,19:12.62 over 5,000 meters, occurred at the Vanguard invitational. |
