Prior to FPU - Chrisie lettered in cross country, track and basketball at Clovis High School... is a four-time CHS cross country team MVP as well as All-League and All-Valley performer... helped the Cougars to Valley cross country championships in 1995, 1996 and 1997, as well as the California State title in 1996... ran a PR of 5:02 in the 1,600 meters on the track last year.
Personal - Chrisie's parents are Rose Anne and Michael Gregory of Fresno... is the oldest of four children... also considered San Jose State, Fresno State, Cal Poly Pomona and Humboldt State before settling on FPU... her dad and grandfather both attended FPU... also enjoys playing basketball... list of favorite foods includes pasta and lasagna... is an FPU Dean's Scholar... plans to major in mathematics and pursue a career as a high school teacher.
As a freshman (1999) - Chrisie peeked at exactly the right time as she ran a season-best 19:20 at Woodward Park in the Golden State Athletic Conference championship... battled with co-freshman Jennifer Toler for the number two spot... finished as the team's number three runner... broke FPU's freshman and varsity records in the 1,500 meters (4:44.54) during the 2000 track season... qualified and competed in the 1,500 meters at the NAIA National Championship in Abbotsford, B.C., Canada.
As a sophomore (2000) - Chrisie picked up right where she left off in 1999 as she improved 50 seconds (19:20 to 18:30) over her freshman season best... helped the Sunbirds to a fourth place team finish with a personal best of 18:30... was named the team's Sunbird of the year.
As a junior (2001) - Chrisie continued her excellent career with a third place finish at the GSAC Championship as she led the Sunbirds to a second place team finish... was third at Woodward Park two weeks later when she led the Sunbirds to a second place finish in the NAIA Region 2 Championship... made FPU history two weeks later as she finished 24th in a field of 238 at the NAIA National Championship in Kenosha, Wisconsin... with that performance she became the first NAIA All-America honoree in Sunbirds history... was named the team's most valuable performer ...also honored as the 2002 FPU Sunbird of the year, an award she shared with Teresa Kamps.
As a senior (2002) - Chrisie concluded her excellent career with another MVP award. She was the first Sunbird across the line in each of the five races she competed... lowered her 5,000 meters PR to 18:15 with her third-place overall finish at the CSU Humboldt Invitational... qualified for the NAIA National Championship with her fifth-place finish in the NAIA Region 2 Championship at Woodward Park, but was sidelined by injury.
