October 26, 2002 - Cougars sweep GSAC team championships
Fresno - The Azusa Pacific University Cougars won the women's team competition at the Golden State Athletic Conference Championship at Woodward Park this morning.
The Cougars women, led by champion Brianna Carstensen (18:25 over 5,000 meters) won their second consecutive championship.
Cougar's coach Bill Reeves was selected as the women coach of the year.
The host Sunbirds finished sixth in both events. Chrisie Gregory, (4th, 18:43) led the Sunbirds women. She and Jennifer Toler (10th, 18:58) both earned All-GSAC honors for their efforts.
The Sunbirds will host the NAIA Region 2 Championship on November 9. The women's 5,000 meters race begins and 3:00 p.m and is followed by the men's 8,000 meters race at 4:00.

Fresno - For the second consecutive year the Sunbirds will host the Golden State Athletic Conference cross country championships at Woodward Park. The women's 5,000 meters championship begins at 9:00 a.m. and is followed by the men's 8,000 meters at 10:00 a.m.
