Prior to FPU - Orlando honed his soccer skills as a six-year member of the Roosevelt Revolution Soccer Club... was a key ingredient in Roosevelt High Schools rise from a fifth place finish in the North Yosemite League in 1998 to winning the Valley Championship in 2000... earned All-NYL first team honors as a junior in 1999... was the NYL and Valley player of the year as a senior in 2000.
Personal - Orlando's parents are Laura Beth and Jaime Ramirez of Fresno... has a younger sister and brother... nicknames are O.J. and Lando... is a Lakers, Raiders and Chives fan... has a special interest in piano... is fluent in both Spanish and English... home church is The Well... is a liberal studies major and plans a career as a high school teacher... his father, Jaime, is the FPU men's and women's soccer coach.
As a freshman (2001) - Orlando started all 18 matches for the Sunbirds... led the team with 61 shots, seven goals and eight assists for a 22 points... shared the team's goal-scoring lead with Fabricio Codeceira... broke FPU's record for assists in game with four in the Sunbirds 7-1 win over Hope International on September 26, 2001... the record of three had been previously held by Joel Ramirez, Orlando's uncle... was named to the All-Golden State Athletic Conference team... was named FPU's 2000-01 Outstanding freshman, an award he shared with Mesha Wimer.
As a sophomore (2002) - Orlando appeared in each of the team's 19 matches, including 17 starts... led the team in scoring with 15 goals and 10 assists for 40 points on 91 shots... shared the team Most Valuable Player Award with Gaston Cignetti... was named the GSAC and NAIA Region 2 player of the year... also earned NAIA All-America honorable mention status.
As a junior (2003) - Orlando had a sparkling junior season... scored an FPU and GSAC record 31 goals, including nine game-winners, and set up 15 other goals... earned GSAC, Region 2 and NAIA All-America first team honors... was named to the NAIA All-Championship tournament team.
As a senior (2004) - Orlando completed one of the most successful careers in FPU's long history with another outstanding effort... led the team with 23 goals and 61 points... also contributed 15 assists... ended his career with 200 points, an average of 2.50 points per match... was named FPU's Outstanding Senior Athlete... earned GSAC, Region 2 and NAIA All-America first team honors... was one of is one the few GSAC players to earn NAIA All-America first team honors in consecutive seasons... is the only NAIA player invited to the 2005 Major League Soccer Player Combine... was drafted in the third round by the San Jose Earthquakes.
