Belmont - The Sunbirds and host Notre Dame De Namur University Argonauts batted to a 1-1 tie this evening in Belmont.

Gilberto Da Silveira gave the Sunbirds an early lead, finishing a nice passing play from just outside the box in the the 21st minute. Juan Alfaro and Amaury Nunes drew assists on the play.

The Argos evened it 14 minutes later when Eric Michon beat Brandon Cave in the FPU goal.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net again.

Cave was credited with 12 saves for FPU.

The Sunbirds travel to San Rafael on Friday to face Dominican University, then have 10 days off before their home-opener September 23. That's when FPU will host Menlo College. Kick-off time under the lights at Steinert Field will be 7:00 PM.
