SAN RAFAEL Another layer was added to the Ramirez soccer legacy tonight when Gabriel Ramirez scored his first goal of the season. Ramirez put the ball in the net off an assist from Victor Machado in the 12th minute.
Score stayed 1-0 throughout the rest of the first half. In the 46th minute Adrian Alvarado lobbed a corner kick to the always dangerous Amaury Nunes bumping-up the score to 2-0.
Goalkeeper Brandon Cave came thru huge in the 63rd minute with a penalty kick save.
Dominican University Penguins did score in the 67th minute. The tally remained 2-1.
Sunbirds get a little over a week of rest before their home opener against Menlo College Oaks on September 23rd. Kick off is 7pm under the lights of Steinert Field.
