GSAC #2 - Sunbirds 0, Cal Baptist 0
Box score
Fresno - The Fresno Pacific University Sunbird squandered a golden opportunity tonight at Steinert Field.
The Sunbirds played most of the match with a one-man advantage, thanks to a red card issued to Michael Corral in the 22nd minute for a studs-up tackle at midfield. Still the Sunbirds were unable to find the back of the net.
"We blew a great opportunity," said head coach Jaime Ramirez. "They played really tough and credit goes to them. We played hard, too, but we did not play smart."
The Sunbirds out-shot the Lancers 14-6, but were whistled 12 times for being offside.
Brandon Cave made two saves in the FPU goal to register the shutout.
FPU will return to action on Tuesday, October 3 in Fullerton when they face Hope International.
