Personal - Jessica was born in Portland, Oregon... her parents are Kathy and Tim Rumsey of Plainfield, Illinois... she has two younger siblings, one brother and one sister... is a Giants and 49ers fan... home church is Northside ... spent this past summer working for Arc Fresno as a job coach for physically and mentally disable people... is fluent in sign language... is a pre-med major.
Prior to FPU - Jessica helped Clovis High School to Tri-River Athletic Conference titles in 1999, 2000 and 2001, and the Valley championship in 1999... also played for the Clovis United Soccer Club... earned All-Trac honors as a senior in 2001... was on the honor roll at CHS in each of her four seasons... has four seasons of eligibility after transferring from CSU Fresno.
As a freshman (2002) - Jessica started each of the team's 17 matches... shared the team's outstanding defensive player award with Nadia Rodriguez.
As a sophomore (2003) - Jessica started 18 games at the sweeper position for the Sunbirds in 2002... was a team captain... named the team's most valuable player.
As a junior (2004) - Jessica battled injuries but still managed to appear in 17 matches, including 13 starts... earned NAIA All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
As a senior (2005) - Jessica appeared in all of the Sunbird's 17 matches, including 16 starts... from the defensive position notched 2 assists, for 2 points... totaled 8 shots with 3 on goal.
