Riverside - Lindsey Merrett's third goal of the season was all the host California Baptist University Lancers needed for a 1-0 Golden State Athletic Conference win over the Sunbirds today in Riverside.
Merrett's goal came at 39:52.
"We are right there," said head coach Jaime Ramirez. "I think we can play with anyone in this league, we just didn't finish this opportunities we had today."
The loss dropped the Sunbirds record to 4-4-0 overall. They are still looking for their first win in GSAC play (0-2-0).
FPU returns to action next Thursday, October 6, when the host the Royals of Hope International University. Kick-off time under the lights at Steinert Field, is 7:00 p.m.
