Fresno - The Sunbirds received goals form Four different players scored as the Sunbirds cruised to a 4-2 Golden State Athletic Conference win over San Diego Christian College this Homecoming afternoon at Steinert Field.
Sarah Palmore (30:26) Elizabeth Burns (32:32), Dianna Ortega (47:43) and Jeanna Ruble (64:09) gave the Sunbirds a comfortable lead before Mercedez Ray (78:18) and Mishon Stalnaker (81:48) responded for the Hawks.
"We feel like with this group we can score three or four goals every time out," said FPU head coach Jaime Ramirez. "To their credit hey (the Hawks) were pressing to the very end and punched in a couple at the end. We need to work on some of our defensive assignments, but it is still a good win (for us)."
The Sunbirds host Notre Dame de Namur Monday in a non conference match. Kick-off time at Steinert Field is 7:00 p.m.
