Final: Notre Dame De Namur 1, Sunbirds 0
Fresno - Marisa Zambetti's diving header was low and just inside the near post- perfectly placed and found the back of the net.
It was the only goal of the contest and lifted the Notre Dame De Namur Argonauts to a 1-0 non-conference win over the Sunbirds at Steinert Field this afternoon.
Kelli Brackinreed drew the assist on the goal. She punched a perfect pass to Zambetti on a set piece from deep in FPU territory.
"This was a very winnable match," said a disappointed FPU head coach Jaime Ramirez . "It was an opportunity that we slip away. They (Notre Dame) have some quality wins against quality opponents and we could have really helped ourselves today. We didn't. It is disappointing."
The Sunbirds return to Golden State Athletic Conference play on Thursday when they travel to La Mirada to face Biola.
The Sunbirds host Westmont this Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
Notre Dame De Namur: 6-5-1
Fresno Pacific: 6-6-1
