NAIA National Championship Quarterfinal
Freed-Hardeman, Tennessee 5, Sunbirds 1

Mobile, Alabama - The inaugural season for the men's tennis at Fresno Pacific University came to a close today with a National Championship quarterfinal loss to Freed-Hardeman of Henderson, Tennessee.

The Sunbirds, seeded fifth, could not match the power and depth of the fourth-seeded Lions.

The number three doubles team of Greg Jackson & Roberto Bianco managed the only win of the day for the Sunbirds.

"We were hoping to get to the final four," said FPU coach NC. "We gave it a great effort and came up a bit short. They are a good team- very balanced. I am pleased with our first season. We set a standard and have some thing to build on."

The Sunbirds end their season with a 15-10 record that included a 10-2 mark in the Golden State Athletic Conference. Their only two GSAC  loses came at the hands of 2005 NAIA champion Azusa Pacific.
