RAIN DELAYS START OVER SIX HOURS

Fresno - The FPU - Concordia tennis doubleheader was scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. Rain and wet court conditions forced a six and one-half hour delay.

The late start had no ill affect on the host Sunbirds as they ran their season record to 13-1 with a 9-0 sweep of the Eagles

The win pushed the Sunbirds Golden State Athletic Conference record to a perfect 12-0.

"We wanted to get the match in," said FPU head coach Neil Castro. "They were flexible. They wanted to get the match in, too, and agreed to spend the night in Fresno."

Jelena Pandzic, Angelina Minova and Megan Hanner were all 6-0, 6-0 winners. Pandzic, and Minova each ran their season-long win streaks to 14 matches.

The Sunbirds will host The Master's College on Tuesday, then head for San Diego for a Saturday match against Point Loma Nazarene.
