Prior to FPU - Chrisie lettered in cross country, track and basketball at Clovis High School... was a four-time CHS cross country team MVP as well as All-League and All-Valley performer... helped the Cougars to Valley cross country championships in 1995, 1996 and 1997, as well as the California State title in 1996.
Personal - Parents are Rose Anne and Michael Gregory of Fresno... is the oldest of four children... her dad and grandfather both attended FPU... enjoys playing basketball... favorite foods include pasta and lasagna... FPU Dean's Scholar... mathematics, secondary education major... plans a career as a high school mathematics teacher.
As a junior (2002) - Won the 3,000 meters at the NAIA National Indoor Championship in Johnson City, Tennessee... is only the second Sunbird women to win an individual NAIA National Championship event... lowered her personal best in the 1,500 meters (4:43.67), 3,000 meters (10:04.30) and 5,000 meters (17:59.44)... all three marks are FPU records... honored as the 2002 FPU Sunbird of the year, an award she shared with Teresa Kamps... qualified for the 3,000 and 5,000 meters at the NAIA National Outdoor Championship in Olathe, Kansas, May 23-25, but did not compete due to illness.
As a senior (2003) - Chrisie successfully defended her 3,000 meters indoor title with a 10:10.12 win in Johnson City, Tennessee in March... won both the 3,000 and 5,000 meters at the GSAC Championship in San Diego in May... followed with a fifth place finish (17:51.26) at the NAIA National outdoor championship in Olathe, Kansas in May... earned NAIA All-America and NAIA All-America Scholar Athlete honors for the second consecutive season... owns FPU records for 1,500, 3,000 and 5,000 meters as well as the 3,000 meter steeplechase. |
