March 25, 2005 - FPU Invitational - FPU romps over Biola, Whittier and Occidental
FPU freshman Natalie Friesen (Immanuel HS, Reedley) won three events today (100m, long jump and triple jump) to lead the FPU women to an easy victory in a four team field.
FPU totaled 240.66 points to easily outdistance Occidental College (130), Whittier College (50) and Biola University (48.33)
Friesen's mark of 18-03.50 in the long jump was a new Cockerham Track record and also qualified her to compete at the NAIA National Outdoor Championship May 26-28 in Louisville, Kentucky.
FPU will host Cal State Bakersfield and Westmont in the triangular meet next Friday. Field events at the Cockerham Track begin at 1:30. Track events begin at 2:00 p.m.

* One relay team from each school will be scored. Schools may enter multiple teams.

* Showers are located in the Special Events Center on the main campus. |

DIRECTIONS TO THE COCKERHAM TRACK
|
|
From the south...
Travel north on Highway 99 to Fresno. Take the Malaga/Chestnut Avenue exit and proceed north on Chestnut 4 miles to Butler Avenue. Turn right (east) on Butler and travel east 1/2 mile to Willow. Turn right on Willow and travel south two blocks. The Cockerham Track will be on your right. Team vehicles may park along Willow close to the fence on the east side of the track.
