| April 1, 2005 - FPU hosts CSU Bakersfield and Westmont
Three firsts by freshman Natalie Friesen (100m, long jump and triple jump) led FPU's wome to a win in the FPU Invitaional this afternoon at the Cockerham Track.
Friesen (Reedley, Immanuel HS) broke the Stadium record in the triple jump with a 38-00.25 leap. The mark also qualified Friesen for the NAIA National Outdoor Championship May 26-28 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Friesen qulaified in the long jump last week.
Two other Stadium records fell today. Cal State Bakersfield's Cecilia Barnes broke the discus mark with a toss of 172-04 (O.R. 167-08) . Roadrunner teammate April Burton established a new mark in the hammer with a 195-07 effort (O.R.186-02). Both marks were previously held by Vivian Chukwuemeka of Azusa Pacific.

DIRECTIONS TO THE COCKERHAM TRACK
|
|
From the south...
Travel north on Highway 99 to Fresno. Take the Malaga/Chestnut Avenue exit and proceed north on Chestnut 4 miles to Butler Avenue. Turn right (east) on Butler and travel east 1/2 mile to Willow. Turn right on Willow and travel south two blocks. The Cockerham Track will be on your right. Team vehicles may park along Willow close to the fence on the east side of the track.
