Personal - Lin's was born in Shen Yang, China, on October 13, 1969... her parents are Jibin Gao and Gui Qin Qu... has one older sister... married Xue Bing Zhang in the summer of 2001.
Prior to FPU - Lin was a member of the Liao Ning Provincial Team from 1984-91 and helped the team to five Chinese National championships... was a member of the Chinese National Team for three years 1991-94, which included a silver medal at the World Cup and a trip to the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.
The 1999 season - Lin earned All-Golden State Athletic Conference, All-Region and NAIA All-America first team honors as freshman when she averaged 4.21 kills and 4.00 digs per game... helped the Sunbirds to a second place finish in the NAIA National Championship.
The 2000 season - Lin redshirted the 2000 season to concentrate on academics and language study.
The 2001 season - Lin returned in the Sunbirds starting lineup in 2001... averaged 3.77 kills, 3.78 digs, 0.83 blocks and 0.35 aces per game... was named the FPU team most valuable player... was named the Golden State Athletic Conference and NAIA Region 2 Player of the year... was named to the NAIA All-America first team, matching her 1999 performance.
The 2002 season - Lin led the team with 4.18 kills and 3.87 digs per game... enjoyed a .384 hitting average and a .938 passing percentage... shared the 2002 GSAC player of the year award with Sola del Rio of Point Loma Nazarene... was named to the NAIA All-America first team for the third time.
The 2003 season - Lin wrapped up her career by leading the Sunbirds to the 2003 NAIA National Championship... averaged 3.86 kills and 4.04 digs per game... was named to the NAIA All-America first team for the fourth time, one of only a handful so honored... was named the NAIA National Championship most valuable player.
