Prior to FPU - Jennifer was a dual sport athlete at Immanuel High
School in Reedley... lettered in both basketball and volleyball...
helped the Eagles to the East Sierra League championship despite
a debilitating injury... an opposing player collided with her
at the net resulting in a fractured fibula and a damaged tibia...
recovered in time to help the Eagles basketball team to an 18-9
record and second place ESL finish... despite her injury Jennifer
was named to the County all star team for the annual City/County
match.
Personal - Jennifer's parents are Kim and Rick Strid of Visalia... has one younger sister... was born in Salem, Oregon... enjoys piano, travel, basketball, running and reading... home church is Grace Community Church... served as a short term missions volunteer in Costa Rica... plans a career as a physical therapist... is an FPU Presidents Scholar.
As a freshman (2001) - Jennifer appeared in 24 games as a defensive specialist
for the Sunbirds... averaged 1.83 digs and 0.25 aces per game.
As a sophomore (2002) - Jennifer appeared in a total of 69 games over 32 contests... averaged 2.72 digs per game.
As a junior (2003) - Jennifer appeared in a total of 53 games and 27 matches... averaged 1.40 digs per game... was named tot he GSAC Scholar Athlete team.
As a senior (2004) - Jennifer appeared in a total of 64 games and 34 matches... averaged 0.81 digs per game... was named tot he GSAC Scholar Athlete team for the second consecutive seasons.
