Prior to FPU - Kelly helped the Clovis West High School Golden Eagles to two consecutive league championships 1995 and 1996... earned All-Tri-River Athletic Conference first team honors in 1996 and was also selected to the 1996 Fresno Bee All-Star First Team... helped the Central Cal Volleyball Club to the consolation championship of the 1997 USA Junior Olympics.
As a freshman (1997) - Kelly appeared in each of the Sunbirds' 35 matches... played in 117 of the team's 122 games... played all six positions on the court... averaged 9.29 assists per game in the 21 games she was the setter... also averaged 2.25 digs and .53 aces per game.
As a sophomore (1998) - Kelly stepped into the starting setter role and appeared in 106 games... recorded 1,361 assists (12.84/game), 65 aces, 71 blocks and 256 digs... was named the GSAC setter of week in eight of the 10 weeks of the season... earned All-GSAC, All-Far West Region and NAIA All-America first team honors.
As a junior (1999) - Kelly was again recognized as an All-GSAC and All-Region player... was named to the NAIA All-America second team... had a career-high 1,694 assists and now ranks fourth on the FPU list with 3,274... also ranks fourth in career service aces with 205... if she continues at her current pace, Kelly will break the FPU career marks for assists (3,738 by Denise Ainley, 1982-85) and aces (253 by Anna Butz, 1984-87)... guided the Sunbirds to a second place finish in the NAIA national championship match against Columbia, Missouri... earned NAIA All-America Scholar Athlete recognition in track and field... finished ninth in the javelin at the NAIA National Outdoor Track & Field championships in Abbotsford, British Columbia, in May to earn All-America honorable mention status.
As a senior (2000) - Kelly became FPU's career leader in assists early in the season when she surpassed Denise Ainley's (1982-85) mark of 3,738... She ended her career with 5,139... She is the only player in FPU history to reach 5,000 assists (5,139), 1,000 digs (1,177), 450 kills (489), 250 blocks (271) and 200 services aces (239)... also ranks second on FPU career list for service aces (239) and games played (496) and fourth in digs (1,177)... Kelly capped an outstanding 4-year career with a long list of honors... she was named to the All-GSAC team for the third time... was also named GSAC Player of the year and NAIA Region 2 Player of the year... named to the NAIA National Championship all-Tournament team... named to the NAIA All-America first team... Kelly was also one of six student-athletes selected to the 2000 Verizon Academic All-District VIII College team by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (District VIII includes the western United States and British Columbia).
